Based just outside Petersfield in Hampshire, 3MG Fire Protection is a family run company supplying fire extinguisher maintenance and other fire protection services to small to medium sized businesses across Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, London and Sussex for over 20 years.

I started 3MG Fire Protection over twenty years ago...
I was working as a Royal Mail Manager and had wanted to start my own Business for many years. A chance meeting with an old friend in Leeds who had formed a Fire Extinguisher Servicing Company gave me the idea that I could do the same. In my role at Royal Mail I had been involved with health and safety and it had also been something I was very interested in. That's me on the left.
I discovered a passion...
I job shadowed my friend for a week to see what he did and discovered a passion for solving customers compliance issues and thereby ensuring their safety. I then applied for a training course, passed it, secured industries specific insurance and then I was ready to go
"Barry, please don’t change what you do”
I gained my customers by being polite and honest I found people were very receptive to this approach. I listened to many stories of how other company’s service engineers had upset the customer with their loud brash behaviour or underhand approach. I knew I could do things differently and ensure a positive experience for the customer.
In the early years one of my customers said to me, “Barry, please don’t change what you do” which puzzled me for a while, but I guess it was my honest polite manner that they were referring to. This has become a core principle of the company.
Many of my customers from 1999 are still with me today...
Twenty years later I have a growing, family run company with a fantastic team of staff that I am very proud of.
