Fire Extinguisher Installation and Maintenance

Businesses are obligated to provide Fire Extinguishers and to have them maintained. They should be serviced at least annually to British Standard 5306 Part 3 2017. New Fire Extinguishers also require a Commissioning Service before use. 3MG Fire Protection do not tie you into a contract but will contact you in the month they are due to book in a mutually convenient day to carry out the service. We also offer rental agreements and All Inclusive Fixed Price Servicing which can be an great solution for some companies.

Our engineers are fully trained , efficient and friendly. They will always be happy to help. They will do their best to make the service as least disruptive as possible so you can carry on as normal. Our Engineers are also able to advise on Selection and Positioning of Fire Extinguishers to comply with BS5306 Part 8 2012.

BS5306 Part 3 2017 states that as well as an Annual Service by a competent person Fire Extinguishers should be checked not less than monthly by the customer. The inspection should include that:

• Each Fire Extinguisher is located in the designated place
  
• Each Fire Extinguisher is unobstructed and visible
  
• The operating Instructions of each Fire Extinguisher are clean, legible and face outwards
  
• Each Fire Extinguisher has not been operated and is not obviously damaged
  
• The reading of any pressure gauge fitted to a Fire Extinguisher is within operational and safety limits
  
• The seals and tamper indicators of each Fire Extinguisher are not damaged or missing​
  
• The customer should contact us to arrange for corrective action where necessary
